August’s Theme: Crescent Moons & Songs of Starlight
About The Bookish Box August 2020 on The Book Brontosaurus
While this box arrived late, we couldn’t be happier with what showed up.
This book, “Star Daughter” by Shveta Thakrar, was The Bookish Box’s choice for August. As announced, the book came with a signed bookplate and gorgeous foiling on the book that matches the dust jacket.
“The daughter of a star and a mortal, Sheetal is used to keeping secrets. Pretending to be “normal.” But when an accidental flare of her starfire puts her human father in the hospital, Sheetal needs a full star’s help to heal him. A star like her mother, who returned to the sky long ago.
Sheetal’s quest to save her father will take her to a celestial court of shining wonders and dark shadows, where she must take the stage as her family’s champion in a competition to decide the next ruling house of the heavens—and win, or risk never returning to Earth at all.”
Necklace – Firstly, the necklace is inspired by “ The Host” by Stephenie Meyer and says wonderer on the back of it.
Journal – This journal is gorgeous and has a galaxy/ space theme to it.
Enamel Pin – The pin was created by @tealteacup and is inspired by Illuminae.
Moon Phase Board – A new pinboard to add all our favorite pins to or it would make great decor by itself.
Tarot Cards – Lastly, two new cards by @darkandbeautifulart to add to our growing collection
We have received this book twice with the different book boxes we subscribe to but The Bookish Box did this wicked cool foil cover for it and we think it is truly gorgeous. All the items we received we find really useful and plan to use them for some photo ops with books.
