I’ll admit that I didn’t know what I was getting into when I started it. This book is hard-hitting but such a necessary story. I ended up having mixed feelings about it for a few reasons but overall it was a good story. Proceed with caution because this book might be triggering for some.

Kayla's Review of "From Blood and Ash" by Jennifer L. Armentrout About Kayla's Review of "From Blood and Ash" on The Book Brontosaurus "I’ve read a few of JLA’s books and this one was on my list when it was released earlier this year. However, Alex was really the determining…
I’ve always enjoyed Pirate-y content. When I was a younger reader, I really enjoyed the Bloody Jack series by L.A. Meyer and this, while being a YA book, sounded like a more grown-up version. It gave me nostalgic vibes and I was really looking forward to reading it.
I’ve loved Maggie Stiefvater’s work since 'Shiver' and I enjoy graphic novels as well. I saw this as a great opportunity to see a collab of two things I enjoy :D I was really looking forward to this rendition of the Swamp Thing story. Additionally, I was excited to be provided with a free ARC by DC to read and review!
Kayla's Review of "I'm Not Dying With You Tonight" by Kimberly Jones & Gilly Segal About Kayla's Review of "I'm Not Dying With You Tonight" on The Book Brontosaurus "I think it’s really important for the books we read to make us think. They are an o way for us…
I remember being so interested in this book when I first read the description. My first thought was that it reminded me a little of “Far From You” by Tess Sharpe, one of my favorite books that I read a while ago and decided to review this year. I was even more excited to be given the opportunity to review an ARC.
Part of what got us to create this blog was a group of people on TikTok who had decided to start a book club. I’d never heard of “Sky in the Deep” but it was chosen as the June book of the month for 2020. I was intrigued by the description and really wanted a community to discuss this reading with so I decided to give it a chance.
Alex and I are both huge fans of Jennifer l. Armentrout! This was the first book I read by Jennifer after the Lux series. I loved the Lux series but I was excited to see her writing in a different genre. Also, Mallory’s story spoke to me when I read the description.
This book intrigued me as soon as I read the summary. It’d been a while since I’d read a monster book and this one really crushed it. My expectations were definitely fulfilled. The only thing I didn’t like is that I now have to wait an entire year before the sequel comes out. Boo.
I became aware of this book on the Hidden Gems website where we find some of our digital and advanced reader’s copies. It sounded interesting so I decided to give it a shot and man, I was not disappointed.
