I’ll admit that I didn’t know what I was getting into when I started it. This book is hard-hitting but such a necessary story. I ended up having mixed feelings about it for a few reasons but overall it was a good story. Proceed with caution because this book might be triggering for some.
I wanted to do a reread before “ A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire” came out however that didn’t happen as planned but I did finally get my reread in. This story was so good the first time around and wanted to experience both books back to back.

This story gets me out of a reading slump every time. Since I love the story so much, I wanted to add it to our blog so I can share my love of this novel with everyone.
I’ve always enjoyed Pirate-y content. When I was a younger reader, I really enjoyed the Bloody Jack series by L.A. Meyer and this, while being a YA book, sounded like a more grown-up version. It gave me nostalgic vibes and I was really looking forward to reading it.
I’ve loved Maggie Stiefvater’s work since 'Shiver' and I enjoy graphic novels as well. I saw this as a great opportunity to see a collab of two things I enjoy :D I was really looking forward to this rendition of the Swamp Thing story. Additionally, I was excited to be provided with a free ARC by DC to read and review!

We both absolutely loved this book and had a lot of the same thoughts. It was a fast paced read and really easy to fit into our reading schedule. We gave “Daughter of the Pirate King” a whopping 4.88 Tree Stars!
